Quarters with stickers could yield big money

If you find a quarter next week with a peculiar sticker, don’t toss it in your coin jar and forget about it.

It could be worth $400.

Members of the Tucson Coin Club will promote National Coin Week from April 15 to 21 by spending the quarters at local retail stores.

The stickers show a link to the American Numismatic Association Web site, www.money.org, and a link to the Tucson group.

The first person to contact the local club with a marked coin will get a $1 Mint Set.

Everyone who contacts the club with a marked coin by April 21 will be entered in the ANA’s grand prize drawing for a First Spouse $10 gold coin worth more than $400.

For more information on the Tucson club, call Jack Winger at 546-1981 or e-mail jackwinger@earthlink.net.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
