SPRING TRAINING

Thursday: Diamondbacks 8, White Sox 4
Pitching recap: Dan Haren went seven innings to pick up his first spring training win. He allowed three hits and two runs. Haren struck out six and walked one. Brandon Lyon gave up two hits and an unearned run in one inning. Lyon has a 14.09 ERA this spring.
Hitting recap: Robby Hammock collected three hits. Hammock, who has struggled this spring, raised his average to .191. Conor Jackson had two hits including a two-run home run. It was his third homer of the spring. Augie Ojeda had two hits.
Notable: Outfielder Alex Romero, who spent last season at Triple-A Tucson, made the D’backs’ 25-man roster. Romero won out over veteran Trot Nixon. Romero is batting .333.
Quotable: “I wanted to make sure I get out there six or seven times and get those innings in and get my pitch count up,” Haren said. “I build my pitch count up every time out, and I feel I am right there.”
