CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Citizen Staff Writer
SPRING TRAINING

Friday: White Sox (John Danks) vs. Rangers (Luis Mendoza), 7:05 p.m., Oklahoma City

Thursday: Diamondbacks 8, White Sox 4

Pitching recap: Chicago starter Nick Masset was touched for seven hits and six runs in 4 1/3 innings. Masset averaged a walk an inning.

Hitting recap: Chicago’s Paul Konerko had one at-bat and it resulted in his second home run this spring. Carlos Quentin had one hit in four at-bats against the D’backs, his former club.

Notable: Joe Crede is expected to have X-rays after fouling a pitch off his left foot. Brian Anderson, a former University of Arizona and Canyon del Oro outfielder, was hitless in two appearances.

Quotable: “I won’t say it hurt (making the squad), but obviously I was a little disappointed with the outing,” Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen said of Crede, who went 0 for 2 before leaving with a foot injury.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
