2 shot, killed in apparent midtown home invasion

Citizen Staff Writer
Law and Order Report

Two men were shot dead when after they reportedly forced their way into the home of a University of Arizona student in midtown early Thursday morning, police
said.

The possible home invasion was in the 800 block
of East Adams Street between North Euclid and North Tyndall avenues, shortly before 12:30 a.m., Sgt. Fabian Pacheco said.

A 23-year-old student was home alone when he heard noises at the front door from two men he did not know, Pacheco said.

It is unclear if the men forced their way in after the student opened the door, or if they broke into the house, he said.

The student shot the two men inside the home and called police, Pacheco said.

When police arrived, two men in their mid 20s were dead on the floor inside the home, he said.

Because the investigation was in its early stages, police did not know what the two men were looking for, or if the pair had approached
the house by mistake.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
