Huskies felt the pain, just like UA

If there’s a team that knows how Arizona feels, it’s Washington.

Last season, the Huskies went through the up-and-down year Arizona is experiencing in 2008-09.

Some days it looked as if Washington had everything solved, beating Arizona State and playing teams tough. But in the end, the Huskies finished 16-17 overall and 7-11 in the Pac-10. That’s not to say Arizona is headed to a subpar finish, but the Wildcats don’t play with the consistency needed to keep up with the Pac-10′s upper echelon. Time will tell how that turns out.

Last season, Washington stumbled after beating Arizona 75-66 in the final month. The Huskies lost three of their last four and finished the regular season 16-16. They were invited to the new College Basketball Invitational postseason tournament, where they lost to Valparaiso 72-71 in the first round.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
