The story: A brief porn clip aired to local Super Bowl viewers who were watching on Comcast cable.

Your take: Some of you are furious. Some of you amused. And a few of you are upset that you missed all the excitement.

A lively exchange of ideas – with plenty of double-entendre – ensued among members of the Tucson Citizen’s online community.

Among the angriest was saladfork, quoted above, who added, “It’s NOT a laughing matter and I am not amused.”

Less upset was holland: “I am not happy either, but my kids won’t die. . . . Adults are the ones all spun up.”

Sneed1974 had a different view, writing, “They complain about a short view of a porn and yet they show killing on the news every day.”

Remembering the infamous Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction” of a couple Super Bowls ago, 12009 asked, “Could this be a Super Bowl tradition?”

Kelle, a Comcast corporate affairs manager, weighed in Monday, writing, “We are mortified by last evening’s Super Bowl interruption, and deeply apologize to our customers for the inappropriate programming. We are aggressively investigating the situation including the possibility of foul play.”

And that gave John7294 a chance to respond, “Comcast will fix this issue between the hours of 8am – 5pm. Please stay home and wait.”

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
