Update on 22nd Street widening set for Thur.

Get an update on the city’s planned widening of 22nd Street from Kino Parkway to Tucson Boulevard at an open house Thursday.

Tucson Transportation Department staffers will present an update of the project, which is to begin construction in the second half of 2010.

The project will widen 22nd to three lanes in each direction and include a grade-separated intersection at Kino and 22nd Street.

The open house is at 5:30 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Recreation Center, 1080 S. 10th Ave.
