Tucson’s own DeLon vies for Dove Award
Tucson musician DeLon has been nominated for a Gospel Music Association Dove Award.
DeLon’s album, “He’s My All in All,” is up for country-gospel Album of the Year against such heavy competition as Randy Travis.
“I think it is definitely an honor to have received this nomination for an industry award and especially, when I have just found out with whom I am competing,” DeLon writes in a news release.
The awards will be handed out April 23 in Nashville.
Local author writes new sci-fi novel
Local writer Frederick J. Masterman has set his new sci-fi novel in Norway.
“A Viking ship contains alien treasure . . . Cryptic jewels hold the secrets of lost ages . . . The enigmatic power of Stonehenge lives again . . . ” teases the cover of Masterman’s “The Jewels of Stonehenge.”
In explaining why he chose Stonehenge as the central theme of intrigue in the story, Masterman writes that the prehistoric monument in England “remains one of the classic archaeological mysteries and captures the adventurous imagination of most people.”
Masterman, a retired priest of the Episcopal Church, is the author of four other books and has a background in geological science.
