Anyone looking for a slithering fun and educational time can find it Wednesday at the Northwest Fire Station 34, 8165 N. Wade Road.
Fire Capt. Adam Goldberg will give a snake demonstration from 10:30 to 11 a.m., according to a news release from the fire department.
Goldberg will help explain how snakes benefit the desert and how to help keep rattlesnakes out of the yard.
People who need a snake removed from their property should call 911 or a pest control service.
“No one without proper training should pick up a rattlesnake, even a dead one,” the release said. “Reflex bites are possible from a snake that has been dead several hours.”
