Chelsea Evanoff and the Pima Community College softball team are hitting their stride.
Evanoff, a Sabino High graduate, fired a no-hitter Tuesday as the Aztecs beat host Mesa 4-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.
Pima won 14-1 in the second contest behind Jordan Trujillo (Sierra Vista Buena), who won her ninth game of the year.
Elisa Stensby homered and drove in four runs for Pima (23-5) in the second game.
The Aztecs host El PasoCC for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Baseball
Pima dropped a pair of games to visiting Cochise College on Tuesday, 2-1 and 6-4.
Justin Zumwalde (Sabino) and Hunter Buckmore (Salpointe) homered in the second game.
The Aztecs (10-8) host Indian Hills (Iowa) CC at 2 p.m. Friday.
Women’s tennis
The Aztecs (2-3) fell 5-4 to visiting Scottsdale, and will host Eastern Arizona at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Pima got singles wins from Teri Flanagan at No. 3 and Lori Cinnamond at No. 4.
Men’s tennis
The Aztecs are 3-2 after a 9-0 loss to host Scottsdale on Tuesday. Pima is off until March 12, when it visits Mesa.
Women’s golf
Pima finished third out of seven teams at a two-day tournamentthat ended Tuesday in Scottsdale. Nicole Gentry was fifth among individuals for Pima.
Men’s golf
The Aztecs were fifth in a two-day event in Phoenix that ended Tuesday. Eric Briggs placed 12th to lead Pima.
