Wildcats finish in 6th place at NCAA Championships

The University of Arizona finished sixth in its defense of a national title at the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas.

The final round was Saturday. UA finished with 309 points, behind Auburn (526), Texas (487), Stanford (460 1/2), California (350) and Florida (324).

It was the 12th time that the Wildcats have finished sixth or better under coach Frank Busch.

Saturday, UA junior Jake Tapp finished second in the 200-yard backstroke in 1 minute, 38.67 seconds.
