Steve Nuñez and Edmund Márquez have launched Sparkplug Advertising, a marketing consulting firm that focuses on the Hispanic market in Tucson. Nuñez is a former reporter for KGUN Channel 9 and ad sales representative. Márquez was the owner of Edmund Márquez Suzuki.

John Fina has purchased Performance Footwear, an athletic shoes and accessories business with stores in Tucson, Nogales and Tempe. Fina, a former NFL player and Salpointe High School football standout, is partnering with Las Vegas shoe retailer Keith Prokopetz and adding more stores to the chain. Kyle Johnson remains general manager in charge of in-store management and sales, and Tim Bentley joins the team as advertising and marketing manager.
