John Jolly of GLHN Architects & Engineers LC was promoted to chief electrical designer. Jolly, who joined GLHN in 2002, will train junior electrical staff, serve as the department’s technical spokesman and resource for design and code issues, and perform quality control reviews of electrical documents. He is past president of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and is an award-winning lighting designer.

Dr. Joseph E. Sheppard received the Health Volunteers Overseas Golden Apple Award. Sheppard, an associate professor of clinical orthopaedic surgery at the University of Arizona, is a practicing hand and upper extremity/microvascular surgeon. For the last five years, Sheppard has traveled to Honduras to work with the residents in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Program at the Hospital Escuela, where he has provided comprehensive training in complex hand reconstruction, taught surgical techniques in the operating room, and taught patient evaluation skills in the clinic. He has been a member of HVO since 1999.
