From the blog

Eastern Buffet & Sushi opened three weeks ago in what had been a JB’s at 2419 E. Broadway (882-8392).

May not be much to look at from the street, but the dining room is impressive, with lots of booths, a long sushi bar, and three large steam tables for the buffet.

The lunch buffet is $6.99, dinner buffet is $8.99, buffet to go is $2.99 per pound for lunch, $3.99 per pound for dinner, and $6.99 per pound for seafood only. The menu features standard Chinese and Japanese nigiri, sashimi and rolls.

Hours are 11 a.m-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

R&R Pizza Express opened two weeks ago at 919 N. Stone Ave. (622-9029) in the old Sahara Motel. It serves pizza, sandwiches, wings, etc., and makes deliveries. Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.

Meanwhile, In-N-Out Burger will open a third Tucson-area restaurant next year at 8 N. Kolb Road in what had been an El Minuto Café.

Our Digital Archive

This blog page archives the entire digital archive of the Tucson Citizen from 1993 to 2009. It was gleaned from a database that was not intended to be displayed as a public web archive. Therefore, some of the text in some stories displays a little oddly. Also, this database did not contain any links to photos, so though the archive contains numerous captions for photos, there are no links to any of those photos.

There are more than 230,000 articles in this archive.

In TucsonCitizen.com Morgue, Part 1, we have preserved the Tucson Citizen newspaper's web archive from 2006 to 2009. To view those stories (all of which are duplicated here) go to Morgue Part 1
