36th-ranked Wildcats to play in regional in Florida

The Arizona men’s golf team will be seeded sixth in the NCAA regionals – the Wildcats’ 22nd NCAA postseason bid in the last 23 years, but the first time they’ll play outside of the West regional.

UA, ranked 36th nationally, will compete in the 14-team regional at Red Tail Golf Course in Sorrento, Fla., on May 14-16. The top five teams and low individual from each of the six NCAA regionals will qualify for the NCAA Championships on May 26-30 at Inverness in Toledo, Ohio.

Others in UA’s field are (seed): Georgia (1), Indiana (2), South Carolina (3), Central Florida (4), Florida State (5), Augusta State (7), Kentucky (8), Georgia Southern (9), Georgia State (10), Iowa (11), Charlotte (12), Campbell (13) and Loyola, Md. (14).
