New Arizona Wildcats football coach Rich Rodriguez will be given a five-year contract, starting with a base salary of $1.45 million, subject to approval of the Arizona Board of Regents.
Rodriguez will earn an additional $300,000 per year from outside income, paid by Nike and IMG.
The base salary escalates to 1.5 million in the second year, and then to $1.6 million, $1.7 million and then $1.8 million.
The five-year total of the base salary is $8,050,000, rising to $9,550,000 million with the additional outside income.
Bonuses include $150,000 for playing in the national title game, $100,000 for any other BCS game, $75,000 for being Pac-12 South champs, $75,000 for being Pac-12 champions and $75,000 for being in a non-BCS bowl game.
