Former Arizona Wildcats receiver Gino Crump, who had a key catch-and-run for a touchdown in the win at Arizona State, has been added to Tucson’s college football all-star game.
Crump is the sixth ex-Cat to commit to play in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game, which will be played at Kino Stadium on Monday.
Crump caught only four passes in 2010 — none in the final 11 games — but turned strong camps and scrimmages into on-field production in 2011. He tied for the second on the team with 65 receptions for 610 yards and two touchdowns.
And he was consistent, with nine games with at least five receptions.
His signature moment came in the fourth quarter against ASU, when he turned a quick hitch into a 33-yard touchdown, slicing through the Devils’ defense. Another touchdown drive and a couple of defensive stops gave the Cats the 31-27 victory.
The other UA players who will participate in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game are safety Robert Golden, defensive ends Mohammed Usman and C.J. Parish, and linebackers Paul Vassallo and LB Derek Earls.
