The Arizona Wildcats have picked up a commitment from defensive back Yamen Sanders off their latest recruiting weekend.
Sanders, Culver City (Calif.) High School, is rated a two-star recruit by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com — the same ranking given to recent UA standouts Juron Criner and Trevin Wade. The new staff at Arizona and Arizona State became interested in Sanders as a somewhat under-the-radar prospect.
But he picked the Cats over Wyoming before visiting ASU.
Sanders, 6-4 and 185 pounds, is projected as one of three safeties in the 3-3-5 scheme of defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel.
Sanders was one of eight visitors last weekend, when Arizona officially broke ground on the north end zone project at Arizona Stadium that will be the team’s new headquarters.
“The facilities are very nice, but that new facility is going to be amazing, like the best in the country,” Sanders told WildcatSportsReport.com. “I had a great visit for sure. Arizona was beautiful and the trip could not have gone better.”
