Running back flips from West Virginia, signs with Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats grabbed three defensive coaches from the staff of West Virginia, and now they have one of their recruits, too.

Arizona managed to flip the commitment of running back J.T. Washington, who had been committed to the Mountaineers since the summer. Washington, from Satellite Beach, Fla., changed his mind after taking an official visit to UA last weekend.

He is the third player from Florida in this recruiting class, all of them skill position players. He joins receivers Trey Griffey and Clive Georges. Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez did well recruiting Florida when he was at West Virginia and Michigan.

Washington (5-9, 160) is rated as a three-star recruit by Scout.com, and a two-star recruit by Rivals.com and 247Sports.

His lead recruiter at West Virginia was defensive backs coach David Lockwood, who is one of three coaches who jumped to Arizona. The others were defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel and defensive line coach Bill Kirelawich.

Here are some junior year highlights, where he shows some waterbug-type moves:
