First pitch from Hi Corbett Field

The Arizona baseball team opened its 2012 season in its new Hi Corbett home Friday night against North Dakota State. The Wildcats used to play here regularly until 1975, when lights were installed at what was then called Wildcat Field on campus.

(In the top of the first inning, UA ace Kurt Heyer escaped a one-out bases-loaded jam with no damage. Arizona led 3-0 after three innings.)

Check back later for more coverage from Hi Corbett … and follow TucsonCitizen.com’s Scott Terrell, who is tweeting from tonight’s season-opener.
