UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Arizona worked without a depth chart through spring, as new coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff evaluated the personnel and put in new schemes on both sides of the ball.
The Wildcats hadn’t officially unveiled a depth chart — such as it is — until this morning at Pac-12, as one was included in their media guide.
There are quite a few “or” choices on the two deep, and a couple of spots at linebacker where there is no second-stringer listed. That’s the kind of depth problem UA has at that position.
Richard Morrison could be the busiest Wildcat — as a starting slot receiver, the potential back-up quarterback and a possible contributor on returns.
The depth chart will be a bigger work-in-progress than usual through fall camp, which begins Aug. 2.
Last season’s starting right tackle, Fabbians Ebbele, is not listed on the depth chart, although he is expected back after a spring suspension. Last season’s starting left tackle, Mickey Baucus, is now listed as competing at right tackle after recovering from offseason back surgery that wiped out his spring practice.
