Former Arizona Wildcats third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean just keeps hitting and hitting.

Mejias-Brean, an eighth-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds, ran his hitting streak to 22 games on Sunday for the Class A Billings Mustangs. That is the longest streak, by four games, in the rookie Pioneer League this season.

He is hitting .370 in 27 games for Billings and .404 during his hitting streak. He still has some work to do to reach the team and league record hitting streak, which is 32 games.

Mejias-Brean, a graduate of Cienega High School, earned All-Pac-12 honors as a junior last season, helping the Wildcats win the College World Series. He hit .357 for Arizona last season, also playing stellar defense at third base.
