Video: Arizona basketball team practices in Bahamas on exhibition trip

The Arizona basketball team left Thursday for its exhibition trip to the Bahamas, and the Wildcats got in a late morning practice on Friday before some sightseeing.

“We’re on a beautiful island and had the opportunity to get in a good practice,” coach Sean Miller said in a news release. “They get the rest of the day for themselves and I hope they enjoy it.”

Coverage of the Cats’ trip will come from the athletic department’s website: ArizonaWildcats.com.

UA will play exhibitions on Saturday and Monday, with an intrasquad scrimmage set for Sunday. The coaching staff put the team — with four freshmen and senior transfer point guard Mark Lyons — through 10 on-campus practices before departing for the Bahamas.

“It’s nice to have the team together this time of year,” Miller said. “It’s a chance for us to develop stronger relationships in part because we have so many new faces. Having them together is priceless and continues our team growth as we move closer to the start of our season.”
