Four Arizona football players earn first-team Pac-12 all-academic honors

Four Arizona Wildcats were selected to the Pac-12 all-academic football team, the league announced Tuesday.

They are:

Redshirt freshman running back Jared Baker (3.56 grade-point average, undeclared major); junior linebacker Jake Fischer (3.32, marketing); sophomore safety Jared Tevis (3.25, finance); and kicker John Bonano (3.93, physiology).

Two UA players earned a spot on the second team — sophomore tight end Michael Cooper and senior offensive lineman Trace Biskin.

Sophomore defensive back/special teams player Trevor Ermisch and redshirt freshman defensive end Reggie Gilbert earned honorable mention.

To be eligible for inclusion, players must have at least a 3.0 gpa and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Fischer leads Arizona in tackles (98). Tevis has 65 tackles, two interceptions and three forced fumbles. Bonano is 12 of 18 on field goals. Baker has 20 carries for 85 yards and primarily has been a special teams player.
