It’s safe for fans of the Arizona Wildcats to plan to attend a wedding on Aug. 31.

The football team’s season-opening football game against Northern Arizona has been moved up a day to Friday, Aug. 30, the school announced Wednesday night.

The game will kickoff at either 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. from a new-look Arizona Stadium. The north end zone project will be completed and the team will be playing on FieldTurf for the first time. Installation of the new surface is under way at the stadium.

The kickoff time, and the television carrier, will be finalized in June.

In addition to the Friday night game against NAU that will lead into the Labor Day weekend, Arizona also has a Thursday night game scheduled — at USC on Oct. 10.
