Arizona Stadium

The makeover of Arizona Stadium continues, with construction crews in the process of moving dirt and leveling the playing surface at Arizona Stadium in advance of the installation of FieldTurf CoolPlay turf.

The fake green stuff goes in around June 1.

The old grass field at Arizona Stadium wasn’t perfectly centered, but the new turf will be. The Wildcats, as they come out of the tunnel from their new locker room in the Lowell-Stevens facility in the north end zone, will pretty much split the uprights.

The football program is expected to move into the facility this summer.

Seating in the north end zone was closed last season during construction. The lower bowl of the north zone will be re-opened for seating, which includes chair-back seats this time. There is also new premium seating in the Lowell-Stevens Club.

Arizona invited the media into Arizona Stadium to take some pictures/video of the construction Monday.

So the worst seats in the house, the endzone, get stadium seats, but the best seats, the west sideline, still get aluminum benches?
Yay for giant video screen/scoreboard. Yay for new turf. Yay for new endzone stuff. Boo for cruddy aluminum benches.
Mr. Byrne, tear down these benches.

I know its too late but why didnt we sell off te old turf? Who would not wanted to have grass in their home lawn that has alll that Wilcat history? But maybe nobody has grass anymore?? LOL
Just saw the AD interview on TV about the grass and the other improvements.Mr. Byrne is doing a great job. Other han having a regular season game in Phoenix concept he is knocking them out of the park!

The “Bear Down” in a lighter green shade on the new turf is a unique touch. However, I would have had the “Bear Down” motto on the 25-yard lines across from the Pac-12 logos, with Bear in Red and Down in Blue.
Also, the McKale Center basketball court should have the name “Lute and Bonnie Olson Court” either around the “A” in center court or across from the Pac-12 logos inside the 3 point arc.
