The Arizona Wildcats have added a non-conference opponent to their future football schedules — Houston.

The home-and-home series will be played 2017 and 2018, with the first game in Tucson. Each game will be held during the second week of the season, the schools announced Tuesday.

The teams haven’t played since 1986, when a 37-3 Arizona victory evened the series at 1-1. Houston won the teams’ first meeting in 1969. Both games were held in Tucson.

Houston is moving this season from Conference USA to the former Big East conference, which has been rebranded as the American Athletic Conference amid the latest wave of conference realignment.
