Arizona football recruiting: Cats add a couple for defense

Arizona Wildcats coach Rich Rodriguez, after starting his 2014 recruiting class with five players for offense, has added a pair of defenders in the past two days.

Devon Brewer, a three-star safety from Central East High in Fresno, Calif., committed Wednesday. On Thursday, Arizona received a commitment from Patrick Glover, a cornerback from Scottsdale Community College.

Brewer (6-0, 175) is a high school teammate of four-star running back Nick Wilson, who has committed to the Wildcats. Arizona was the first Pac-12 school to offer a scholarship to Brewer, who is ranked the fifth-best safety in the West by Scout.com.

Glover (6-1, 181) played at Mesa Mountain View High as a senior in the 2011 season. He will have three years to complete two seasons of eligibility at Arizona. You can see his highlights from last season here.
