Offensive lineman Kaige Lawrence, who began his career at Division II Chadron State in Nebraska, committed to the Arizona Wildcats on Friday.

Lawrence, rated a two-star recruit by Scout.com, played last season at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

He held offers from Arizona and Florida Atlantic, according to reports, and was receiving recruiting interest from other FBS programs. The Arizona coaches didn’t want to wait.

“They told me that they like my aggressiveness on tape and my athletic ability,” Lawrence told WildcatSportsReport.com, our TucsonCitizen.com partner.

He attended Silverado High School in Victorville, Calif., before redshirting at Chadron State in 2011.

Lawrence is on pace to graduate in December and could transfer at the semester break. He would have two years to complete two seasons of eligibility at Arizona.

Arizona has received three commitments in the past three days to bring its total to eight for the 2014 class.

A highlight video of Lawrence from last season is available at Hudl.com.
