The Arizona Wildcats have added Jarvis McCall, a freshman defensive back who originally signed with South Florida, to their 2013 recruiting class, according to multiple reports.
McCall, who sat out last year because he was not eligible to play, will arrive in Tucson with full eligibility — five years to play four.
McCall (6-2, 185) is from Armwood High in Seffner, Fla., outside of Tampa. He compiled eight career interceptions in high school and helped the team to a 15-0 record and a Class 6A state title as a senior in 2011, returning a pick for a touchdown in the championship game. The Hawks were ranked the No. 2 team nationally by ESPN.
Rivals, Scout and 247Sports rated McCall as a three-star recruit out of high school. He projects as a college safety.
(In other recruiting news, Rivals and Scout have taken tight end Nick Nataro, a 2014 recruit, off Arizona’s commitment list. That would put the Cats’ 2014 class at eight prospects for now.)
Here is a highlight video of McCall produced by USF when he signed in February 2012.
