Arizona Wildcats recruit Sharif Williams is expected to miss the rest of his senior season of high school after suffering an unspecified knee injury in his team’s season-opener Saturday night.

The defensive tackle, one of three players from Fresno (Calif.) Central East High committed to UA, suffered the injury late in the first half in a 31-7 loss at Valor Christian High in Highlands Ranch, Colo. He was treated on the field for about 20 minutes before being carted off and into an ambulance.

Williams, who had been hospitalized in Colorado through Monday night, was expected to return home today, according to the Fresno Bee.

Coach Justin Garza told the newspaper for a story today that he didn’t know the results of an MRI, but that the injury “doesn’t look good.”
