Former Arizona Wildcats quarterback Matt Scott has joined the Jacksonville practice squad after being among the Jaguars’ final cuts.
Scott, an undrafted free agent, was beat out for the team’s third quarterback spot by Ricky Stanzi, a late signee in camp. With the Jags, Scott will be able to continue to work with one of his former position coaches at Arizona, Frank Scelfo.
Former Arizona basketball player Fendi Onobun also landed on a practice squad. He was re-signed by Chicago after being released by the Bears at the end of camp. This is the sixth NFL team for Onobun, who continues to intrigue the pros with his athleticism and raw ability at tight end. He finished his college career by playing one year of football at Houston.
