I posted a notice of this event last month but wanted to update and re-post since the date is so close…

You can watch the Arizona Wildcats 1997 national championship victory over Kentucky on-line any time you want at the NCAA vault, but you have never seen it like this:

That 84-79 overtime victory will be shown on the big screen at the Fox Theatre in downtown Tucson on Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., an event to benefit the Primavera Foundation and Blair Charity Group.

You know how it ends, but the fun will be cheering on the team with fellow fans — and interacting with coach Lute Olson and several Wildcats from that team who will be in attendance to talk about all the details about the win.

Miles Simon, Jason Terry, Miles Simon, Eugene Edgerson, A.J. Bramlett, Michael Dickerson, Bennett Davison, John Ash, Donnell Harris, Justin Wessel, Jason Stewart, Quynn Tebbs and Jason Lee are scheduled to attend.

Popcorn and refreshments will be available.

“We want people to dress in their gear and yell and scream,” ex-Wildcat Joseph Blair told downtowntucson.org. “It will be just as thrilling as the first time.”
