Arizona Wildcats junior safety Jared Tevis, the team’s leading tackler, will miss Saturday’s game against Utah because of a knee injury.

Coach Rodriguez said after Wednesday’s practice that it might “be another week” before Tevis is able to go. Tevis had 36 tackles, two more than freshman linebacker Scooby Wright.

Next up at “Bandit” safety position is sophomore Will Parks, whom Rodriguez called “one of the most athletic guys on defense.” Parks, who played as a true freshman last season, has eight tackles and one pass break-up this season, contributing in the team’s nickel package and on special teams.

Backup cornerback Derrick Rainey is listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report because of a lower back injury. If Rainey is unavailable, that cements true freshman Devin Holiday as the team’s No. 3 cornerback this week.
