The Arizona Wildcats will have a full coaching staff when the team takes on Augustana College in an exhibition game at McKale Center on Monday night.
Assistant coach Book Richardson, who left the team in late September because of undisclosed health reasons, has returned to the squad, the school announced Friday.
“We’re excited to have Coach Richardson back with our program,” Arizona coach Sean Miller said in a statement. “His unique energy and enthusiasm are huge contributions to our program on a daily basis.”
Richardson, 40, has been with Miller for the past six seasons, spending two years on Miller’s staff at Xavier before joining him at Arizona.
“I’m happy and thankful to be returning to the team at this time,” Richardson said in a press release.
“I want to thank Greg Byrne, Coach Miller and the entire University of Arizona family, as well as everyone who reached out to me during this time, for their support. I’d also like to thank my wife, Erin, and my children, Chasidy, Sere, Chanel, E.J. and Jaylen, for looking after me during my time at home.
“It’s great to be back, and I’m looking forward to a successful season.”
Arizona’s exhibition game is scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. Monday.
