We know Arizona Wildcats running back Ka’Deem Carey won’t be a unanimous All-American.

Two of the five officially recognized All-America teams are out, including the release of the Sporting News squad on Friday.

The Sporting News went with Boston College’s Andre Williams and Auburn’s Tre Mason as its All-America running backs, leaving off Carey, who picked up a first-team honor from the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Thursday night.

Still to come from the official selectors are All-American squads from the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press and the Football Writers Association of America. (I am one of 16 voters for the AP All-America team, which will be released Tuesday.)

We’ll keep track of the All-America honors for running backs right here. The two running backs who receive the most mentions are considered consensus All-Americans. That was the case for Carey last season, when he tied with Montee Ball with three All-America awards behind Kenjon Barner’s four.
