Arizona Wildcats running back Ka’Deem Carey is a consensus All-American for the second consecutive season.
He was selected a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association on Wednesday morning, and picked up first-team honors from the Football Writers Association of America in the afternoon.
Carey was mentioned on four of the five officially recognized All-America teams. Direct your complaints to The Sporting News, which opted for Auburn’s Tre Mason instead of Carey on its All-America squad. Boston College running back Andre Williams was a unanimous selection.
Carey and Williams will be on the same field when Arizona plays Boston College in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in Shreveport, La., on Dec. 31.
Carey is the 11th player in school history to be a consensus All-American, and the fourth to do it twice, joining Ricky Hunley, Rob Waldrop and Tedy Bruschi. (See full list below.) Carey and those three others — all of whom are in the College Football Hall of Fame — are also the only players in school history to be two-time AP first-team All-Americans.
Here is a list of Carey’s first-team awards so far this season.
