Parade All-American confirms commitment to Arizona after visit

Kyle Kelley, a Parade All-American defensive end from Irvine, Calif., confirmed his commitment to the Arizona Wildcats after taking an official recruiting visit this weekend.

Kelley, who committed to the previous coaching staff, began to consider other options when Mike Stoops was fired. But he satisfied any doubts he had after meeting with coach Rich Rodriguez and his assistants in Tucson, returning home and canceling scheduled in-home visits from Oklahoma and Colorado.

Kelley, 6-3 and 230 pounds, should end up as a pass-rushing weak-side defensive end in the 3-3-5 scheme of coordinator Jeff Casteel.

Kelley is rated the 44th-best prospect in California by 247sports.com. He is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. He made 22 sacks as a senior at Woodbridge High School and 19 as a junior.

“I think my quickness and instincts allows me to make plays that others can’t,” Kelley told the Orange County Register last month. Click the link to read more about Kelley from the Orange County Register.
