The Arizona Wildcats video crew has done a sequel.
Following up on this summer’s Western-themed Hard Edge video featuring Rich Rodriguez and the coaching staff, the athletic department released Hard Edge II, with a dozen key players for the 2013 stepping in front of the cameras at Old Tucson Studios.
Senior offensive lineman Chris Putton gets the only speaking part among the players, uttering “Let’s go, boys” after RichRod walks into the saloon and stoically announces, “It’s time.”
From there, the players get their close-ups, with game highlights cut in between the introductions, followed by some fine-looking old-timey snapshots to wrap up the video.
The first Hard Edge video, released during the slow college football news period in mid-June, provided Rodriguez and the program a couple of days of national attention. That video had more than 180,000 YouTube views as of Wednesday afternoon.
Hard Edge II arrives just before Pac-12 Media Day on Friday … and it could very well be a topic of discussion Thursday when Rodriguez makes several appearances on ESPN platforms.
And here it is as the Cats go cowboy …
