Arizona Wildcats coach Rich Rodriguez had a question for his team in the postgame locker room.
“You know what’s coming up, right?” he asked.
“Yes, sir,” they answered.
“Time to play for the Rose Bowl,” Rodriguez said.
The Wildcats (3-0) are off this week in advance of the start of their Pac-12 season at Washington on Sept. 28. Rodriguez said the team, which always meets and has a light practice on Sundays, will begin prep work for the Huskies today.
Arizona will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week before getting into normal game week mode next Sunday.
“Nobody is predicting us to do anything,” said Rodriguez, whose team defeated NAU, UNLV and UTSA. “They’ll say we won those three games because we’re supposed to. That’s right. But we still won ‘em.”
(Arizona does have some believers in the AP poll.)
